The 100th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Afghanistan and Turkey Has Been Celebrated at Parwan University

A celebration event was held by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and Parwan University on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Turkey.

The event held at Parwan University, located in Parwan Province, was attended by General Fazluddin Ayar, Governor of Parwan Province; Aminullah Shukuri, Director of the Provincial Council of Parwan; Prof. Mohammad Hamayoon Rasouli, Rector of Parwan University; Zühtü Çal, TİKA’s Kabul Coordinator; Salih Sağır, Director of Turkish Maarif Foundation; Çağatay Sünerin, Director of Yunus Emre Institute; and Ferit Ahmed Ziya, Head of the Delegation of Turkish Red Crescent.

In his speech at the event, Governor Ayar extended his good wishes on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations and stated that the Republic of Turkey has always stood in solidarity with the people and government of Afghanistan.

Zühtü Çal, TİKA’s Kabul Coordinator, emphasized the long-lasting friendly relations between the two countries and noted that TİKA has implemented more than 1300 projects through its 3 offices in Afghanistan since 2004.

In his speech, Sayid Mubin Hashimi, Vice-Rector of Parwan University, explained the historical development of the relations between the two countries.

At the end of the speeches, the 100th anniversary cake was cut, and a play about the relations between the two countries was performed. As part of the program, the “Radio Studio and Photographic Laboratory of the Faculty of Journalism,” built by TİKA at the end of 2020, was inaugurated.

At the end of the ceremony, trees were planted as a sign of the friendly relations and solidarity between the two countries.
