Tal Afar Football Field Constructed by TİKA in Iraq Has Been Completed

The Tal Afar Football Field, which started to be built in May in Tal Afar, Mosul, Iraq by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), was completed in a short time and made ready for service.

Within the scope of the project initiated in order to enable young people to do sports activities in a modern environment in Tal Afar, Mosul, which is one of the regions most affected by the civil war that has been going on for many years in Iraq and the DAESH/ISIS terrorist attacks that emerged after it, and consists entirely of Turkmens; the construction of a modern football field at international standards was completed and it was made ready for service. This project aimed to contribute to the development of the region to prevent the negative effects and propaganda of extremist organizations in the region on young people, and to encourage young children to do sports activities.

In the complex, which will serve more than 50 football clubs operating in the region as the most modern football field within the borders of Mosul, there is a field lighting system for night matches as well as changing rooms and shower rooms.
