Support from TİKA to the Training Project for Teachers in TRNC

Project Consultancy Training for Teachers was organized with the cooperation of METU Northern Cyprus Campus, Ministry of Education of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

Project Consultancy Training for Teachers was organized with the cooperation of METU Northern Cyprus Campus, Ministry of Education of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and TİKA in Nicosia.

Theoretical and applied training

The training project was conducted by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Böyükata from Yozgat Bozok University.  Prof. Uğur Çevik, a faculty member at Karadeniz Technical University and the Science Advisor to the Vice President, Prof. Murat Fahrioğlu, Assoc. Prof. Yeliz Yeşilada Yılmaz and Dr. Bertuğ Akıntuğ from METU Northern Cyprus Campus gave the training within the scope of the project. The training lasted from September 5^th to 6^th and took 18 hours. The teachers were informed about how to write a project, evaluate project proposals, do literature review, and propagate project outputs. The participants also had the chance to apply what they learned through various techniques.  

Certificates of Attendance Distributed

Following the training, a dinner was organized. Aytunç Şirket, Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Education, Murat Aktuğ, Head of the Board of Education from the TRNC Ministry of National Education and Board Member at Board of Directors of METU Northern Cyprus, Havva Dağseven, Head of Supervision, Evaluation and Steering Committee and Board Member at Board of Directors of METU Northern Cyprus, Gökmen Davutoğlu, Head of Directorate of Department of Education – Shared Services, Havva Pınar Özcan Küçükçavuş, TİKA’s Program Coordinator in Nicosia, Anıl Haşim, In-Service Training Specialist at TRNC Ministry of Education and  Tayfun Can Onuk, faculty member from METU Northern Cyprus Campus participated in the dinner. At the end of the program, the teachers were presented certificates of attendance by Aytunç Şirket, Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Education.
