Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) opened a packaging workshop and sales office to support women producers in Niger, where women’s participation in social and economic life is still not at the desired level and the education of girls remains to be a social problem.
TİKA opened a packaging workshop and sales office in Niamey, the capital of Niger to support women who are the members of Nigerien Working Women’s Federation. TİKA aims to increase women’s and girls’ participation in education and production. The women who are members to the federation learned the details of packaging process, and now they will be able to sell their products in a more professional way. They will also receive trainings on packaging and sales techniques.
Increasing Nigerian Women’s Income
Özgür Çınar, the Ambassador of Türkiye, İrfan Pamuk, TİKA’s Niamey Coordinator, Bakari Hadizatou Ali Mazou, Vice President of Niamey City Council and the women who are the members of the federation participated in the opening ceremony. Nigerien Working Women’s Federation gathers the women who contribute to production across the country. With this new project, women will handle packaging and standardization faster. The objective is to increase their production capacity and income, diversifying the market where they sell.
