Support Events for Operation Olive Branch Held in Baku

With the contributions of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, held support events for Turkey's "Operation Olive Branch" on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory and the 100th anniversary of Baku's independence, which was achieved thanks to the success of the Islamic Army of the Caucasus during the Armenian-Russian invasion, and the independence of the Azerbaijan People's Republic.  

During the events carried out by Azerbaijani non-governmental organizations and university student organizations, which aimed to highlight the unique brotherhood and solidarity between Azerbaijan and Turkey, support events were held for Turkey's "Operation Olive Branch" on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory and the 100th anniversary of Baku's independence, which was achieved thanks to the success of the Islamic Army of the Caucasus during the Armenian-Russian invasion, and the independence of the Azerbaijan People's Republic.  

The conference titled "The Past, Present, and Future of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Brotherhood" was held by the "Our Eternal Brotherhood" platform, which was formed by 8 Azerbaijani NGOs at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. During the conference, which was attended by university students and academics, economic ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey, mutual assistance between Anatolian and Azerbaijan Turks during the 19th and 20th centuries, the history of top-level relations between the two countries, the current situation, and future issues were discussed.

As a continuation of the events organized by the "Our Eternal Brotherhood " platform which discussed the eternal brotherhood, a cultural event titled "Our Heroic History" was held. The program began with a one-minute moment of silence for all the martyrs who lost their lives, particularly in Çanakkale, in the Islamic Army of the Caucasus, and in Afrin.

The "Our Heroic History" event was attended by Azerbaijani MPs Ganire Paşayeva and Hikmet Babaoğlu, Azerbaijan-Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Vice President and MP Şemseddin Hajiyev, Presidential Authority of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rasim Mirzeyev, and representatives of Azerbaijani non-governmental organizations. The MPs, representatives of the state, and non-governmental organizations who were invited highlighted the everlasting solidarity between Anatolian and Azerbaijani Turks and drew attention to the historical victories gained through unity, solidarity and devotion to one's nation. The speakers emphasized that Turkey’s victories in Afrin and Karabakh were very near.

The event continued with a concert by a Novruz Novruzlu and Turkish singer, Esat Kabaklı; they sang songs on heroism, and an art exhibition containing Azerbaijani students’ drawings themed support for "Operation Olive Branch" was held. The series of events which displayed our brotherhood and solidarity was concluded with the Çanakkale Memorial Program organized by the Turkish Student Council at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.
