Seminar For Afghan Judges And Prosecutors

A seminar program regarding Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime was conducted for Afghan judges and prosecutors at the Justice Academy of Turkey with the cooperation of Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency and Education Department of the Ministry of Justice in scope of the Capacity Expanding Programs.

Conducting Capacity Expanding Programs on many sectors such as agriculture, health, education and the improvement of administrative and civil infrastructures TIKA makes great contributions to the institutions and organizations of the countries it operates in. In this context TIKA conducted a seminar program regarding Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime for Afghan judges and prosecutors with Ministry of Justice’s cooperation.
Upon Supreme Court of Afghanistan’s request, Justice Academy of Turkey planned two educational programs for groups of 30 for Afghan judges and prosecutors. In this scope the second educational program is planned to be executed on 7-11 September 2013, the first has been completed recently.

Within the Justice Academy of Turkey’s duty to form professional and scientific relations with international institutions, a seminar program regarding Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime was conducted for the first group of 30 people consisting of judicial members of Afghanistan with the cooperation of TIKA and Education Department of the Ministry of Justice. In scope of the program, presentations were made on the introduction of the Turkish judicial system and Prosecutorial System, Turkish legislation and practices on Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime.

Constitutional Court Presidency, Supreme Court Presidency, the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors, Information Technology Department (UYAP) and Xinjiang Chief Public Prosecutor were visited for on-site observation of Turkish legislations. Additionally an Istanbul tour was organized for the delegation in scope of the cultural program.
