Ramadan Aid from TİKA to Families in Need in Serbia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) started to distribute 2000 food parcels to the families in need in Novi Pazar, Serbia on the occasion of Ramadan.

The distribution of food parcels aimed at those in need started in the Sanjak province. Throughout Ramadan, different regions in Serbia, including Belgrade and its surrounding towns, Sanjak, Preševo, Vojvodina, Nišava and Mačvanska, will receive food parcels.

Başar Başol, Türkiye’s Novi Pazar Consul General, Muhamed Demirovic, the Vice President of Serbian Islamic Unity, and Mehmet Mete Anaç, TİKA Belgrade Coordinator participated in the food parcel distribution in Novi Pazar in the Sanjak province.

Başol, the Consul General, said that Türkiye has always sided with those from Sanjak and worked for their happiness and welfare. Başol added, “TİKA, one of the most important institutions in Türkiye working for this purpose, has carried out numerous projects in Serbia. As in the previous years, TİKA is continuing the tradition this year and distributing Ramadan parcels to families in need. This year, TİKA will distribute two thousand food parcels in 25 different points in Serbia.”

Mehmet Mete Anaç, TİKA Belgrade Coordinator, stated that “Since the opening of our Serbian office in 2009, we have been trying to offer a hand to Serbian people. We have carried out more than 300 projects so far. This year, we started our Ramadan aids, which have turned into a tradition, in Novi Pazar. We will continue to provide two thousand needy families across Serbia with food parcels throughout Ramadan.”
