Palestinian Theatre Players Participated in Trabzon International Theatre Festival

Palestinian theatre players came to Türkiye with the sponsorship of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and participated in Trabzon International Theatre Festival with their play, “Oranges and Stones”.

Organized by the Turkish State Theatres Foreign Affairs and Festivals Units working under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 22^nd Trabzon International Theatre Festival took place between May 5^th and 20^th, 2022. Actors from the Palestinian ASTHAR Theatre participated in the festival with their play, “Oranges and Stones”.  

“Oranges and Stones” is a pantomime which involves physical action and original music. The play realistically reveals the persecution in Palestine and takes the audience to a time travel towards the first days of the seventy-year occupation. The play treats the story of a poor refugee who came from Europe at the end of the World War I and took shelter in a woman’s house.
