As part of the Erenler Sofrası Ramadan Program, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided an aid package consisting of food, hygiene and cleaning supplies in Hungary for the Social Care Center in the Erd district, the Crisis Management Center in the city of Székesfehérvár, the Homeless Care Center in the city of Dunaújváros, and the Social Care Center in the city of Salgótarján.

Within the scope of the decision of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey to declare 2021 as the Year of Yunus Emre and Turkish Language, the Year of Haji Bektash Veli and the Year of Ahi Evran, TİKA has been carrying out Ramadan social solidary projects under the name “Erenler Sofrası” in 87 countries this year. Within this context, the common themes of the projects that are being carried out by TİKA around the world have been established as affection, friendship and sharing, which were the essence of the poems and teachings of the Anatolian Erens.

In order to support the social aid services carried out for the homeless people by TİKA’s Budapest Program Office in the spirit of goodness, sharing and solidarity of the Erenler Sofrası program, 213 aid packages consisting of food, hygiene and cleaning supplies have been delivered between April 30-May 7 for a total of 712 homeless people; 130 of them in the Social Care Center in the Erd district, 140 of them in the Crisis Management Center in the city of Székesfehérvár, 350 of them in the Homeless Care Center in the city of Dunaújváros, and 92 of them in the Social Care Center in the city of Salgótarján.

These social aid centers provide shelter, food, healthcare services and employment opportunities for the homeless people; as well as food, daycare and personal cleaning aid for the municipality residents who cannot provide a living for themselves and their dependents.
