Delivery Of Tents For Nomadic Students At Kabul

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) delivers tents for nomadic students in various districts of Kabul and Logar.
Upon the end of winter, the academic year started in provinces of Kabul and Logar included among cold regions of Afghanistan. Officials of TIKA’s Coordination Office at Kabul visited nomadic students in various districts of Kabul and Logar where education was conducted outdoors.

Due to inadequate infrastructure, education in Afghanistan traditionally takes place in tents. Aware that some schools did not have adequate tents either, TIKA delivered 18 tents to Ghazi Abad village, Chahar Asyab district of Kabul province, and 18 tents to Karez-i Mir village, Mohammad Agha district of Logar province, for a total of 30 tents for education. TIKA-supplied tents were delivered to the officials in a ceremony.

The ceremony was honored by Parliamentary Deputy Muhammad Yusuf Sabir, the Chairman of the Commission for Kuchis, Tribes, Nomads and Displaced Persons of the House of People of Afghanistan National Assembly; TIKA’s Coordinator at Kabul Süleyman Şahin, Deputy Coordinator Abdurrahman Sibgatullah Toprak, school administrators, village masters and students.

In the ceremony, Afghan officials expressed their gratitude to TIKA for projects realized in Afghanistan. Noting the importance of assistance in education, they confirmed their wish for further cooperation between two countries. TIKA’s Coordinator at Kabul Süleyman Şahin reaffirmed that TIKA would continue to implement further projects in Afghanistan.
