Delivery Of Supplies To Islamic Medical Center In Lebanon

 

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) delivers medical supplies to the Islamic Medical Center in Tripoli, Lebanon.
TIKA’s activities in healthcare continue unabated in countries where TIKA operates. TIKA, in this context, delivered assistance of 100 emergency medical kits to the Islamic Medical Center which operates Tripoli Shifa Hospital and various medical organizations and provides emergency assistance services recently on the Syria-Lebanon border, particularly in Arsal area.

The number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon due to the civil war in Syria has exceeded 1 million according to the Turkish Embassy at Beirut, a large part of whom try to survive in Arsal near the border. TIKA delivered medical materials to respond to emergency medical needs of refugees, particularly for maternal and infant health.

Prepared for Tripoli Islamic Medical Center active in the region, 100 Doctor’s Kits containing medical supplies for emergency aid, medicine and instruments were delivered to the officials in a ceremony at the Turkish Embassy at Beirut attended by the Counsellor Bekir Utku Atahan, Dr. Mahmud Sayed, Chairman of Tripoli Islamic Medical Center, and TIKA officials.

Dr. Mahmud Sayed, Chairman of Tripoli Islamic Medical Center and Zayed Mansoori, Hospital Administrator expressed in the ceremony their gratitude for TIKA’s support and Turkish aid activities in the region. Counsellor Atahan of Turkish Embassy reaffirmed that humanitarian aid to the region would continue, and wished that the human drama would soon end.
