Built with the Contributions of TİKA, the Training Center of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan Was Put into Service

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) renovated the Training Center of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The building located in the campus of the agency and used for the entry of foreigners into the country was transformed it into a training center after its renovation and equipment by TİKA, in order to expand the scope of the training programs organized by the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ensure the use of modern equipment in these programs. Equipped by TİKA with computers and electronic devices, the training center was put into service with its higher capacity and new appearance.

The opening ceremony of the center was attended by Serkan Kayalar, TİKA’s President, and Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Stating that the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are at a high level, Kayalar said, “These relations also affect our projects.” Stressing that TİKA has been in close cooperation with the institutions of Azerbaijan, a friendly country, since 1994, Kayalar said, “We are honored to open the Training Center of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was an important project. The State Migration Service is a state institution that has a very important function in Azerbaijan, works intensively, and produces quality work. As TİKA, we are also pleased to build this training center, which will support the technical and institutional capacity of this agency.”

Kayalar noted that they also equipped the training center and agreed with Azerbaijani Institutions that they should improve their cooperation in the future.

Vusal Huseynov stressed that Turkey’s strong political and moral support during the Second Karabakh War was the most remarkable example of the high-level cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Stating that the Training Center of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been modernized with the support of TİKA, Huseynov said, “As part of the project, the training center has been rebuilt with a larger scope and higher capacity and made more functional. Its technical equipment has been strengthened. The training center will improve the knowledge and skills of the employees of the State Migration Service. It will be used for social projects. It will also serve as a regional training center.” 

During their trip to Baku, Serkan Kayalar, TİKA’s President, and Teoman Tiryaki, TİKA’s Baku Coordinator, met with Anar Karimov, Minister of Culture, and visited Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations (ASAN Service).
