500 Trees Have Been Planted in Pakistan in Memory of the Martyrs of July 15

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) held a ceremony for the planting of 500 trees in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, in memory of the martyrs of July 15.

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) held a ceremony for the planting of 500 trees in the Memorial Forest for the Martyrs of July 15 in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

The ceremony held at Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad was attended by Muhammad Farogh Naseem, Minister of Justice of Pakistan; İhsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Turkey’s Ambassador to Islamabad; Gökhan Umut, TİKA’s Islamabad Coordinator; and invitees.

In his speech, Ambassador Yurdakul stressed that July 15 is an important day for the democracy and people of Turkey and that the people of Turkey took to the streets and resisted the coup plotters on July 15, 2016.

Yurdakul noted that they set an example not only for Turkey, but also for other countries around the world.

Emphasis on “I salute the Turkish people”

Muhammad Farogh Naseem, Minister of Justice of Pakistan, reminded that many Turkish citizens lost their lives to protect the democracy and democratic tradition on July 15, 2016.

Naseem saluted the Turkish people who took a stand against the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), which tried to trigger a foreign intervention, destabilize Turkey, and stage a coup through this sad event. He noted that during this event, 251 people were killed, and thousands of people were injured.

Naseem stressed that Turkey and Pakistan are two countries but one nation and that the two countries share common values and always stand in solidarity with one another.

At the ceremony, 500 trees have been planted in memory of the martyrs of July 15.
