TİKA’s Equipment Support To the Turkish Cultural Center in Serbia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided equipment support to the Novi Pazar Turkish Cultural Center serving within the Novi Pazar Municipality Cultural Center, which was opened by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in 2010.

Turkish language education has been given to approximately 3000 students so far in the center, where there are two Turkish language lecturers employed and who were charged by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Education. At the moment, 345 students actively receive education.

In the center, where the student number is rapidly growing because of the rise in demand for Turkish courses, the equipment needed for the classroom space expanded by Novi Pazar Municipality was provided by TİKA.

Attending the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Novi Pazar Municipality, Nihat Bişevac, emphasized that the Turkish Cultural Center is a reflection of the good relations between Serbia and Türkiye and mentioned that the interest towards the cultural center has increased among young people.

In his speech, Consul General in Novi Pazar, Başar Başol, stated that lots of young people living in the Sancak region are learning Turkish in the Turkish Cultural Center and that the project carried out by TİKA is essential for the introduction of the Turkish language and culture.
