Youth In Cameroon Will Be Learning Turkish

 

Through cooperation between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Directorate and the Association Camérounaise pour la Culture et l’Education Foundation, a computer classroom was established in the education center located in the capital Yaoundé.
The Association Camérounaise pour la Culture et l’Education Foundation which has been working in Cameroon since 2010, provides education to young people in the capital Yaoundé through a volunteer program. Also the same foundation has cultural activities in Turkey as well.

Through cooperation between the Association Camérounaise pour la Culture et l’Education Foundation and TİKA a computer classroom has been established to help students manage with their own resources in the future and become beneficial citizens in the community. Turkish is planned to be taught as a foreign language here. The meals and accommodations needs of the students in the education center are also provided for.

Non-governmental organizations have contributed greatly to the relations between Cameroon and Turkey becoming increasingly more positive. In support of this approach, the Turkish Embassy in Yaoundé also participated in the opening of the computer classroom which was provided by TİKA. The Yaounde Turkish Embassy authorities pointed out the significance of the project which has been undertaken by TİKA and thanked the foundation officials. The officials expressed their wishes for the continuation of such cooperation.

By means of the informatics classroom equipped by TİKA, many students will be able to learn Turkish as a foreign language
every year. The project aims to provide student with computer training so that they may achieve a certificate through the relevant ministry and further advance into a profession.
