A Computer Laboratory For The Southern Sudan Police Organization

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Directorate and Turkey’s Juba Embassy cooperated to establish a 30 person computer laboratory in the Dr. John Garang Joint Police Training Center located in Southern Sudan’s capital of Juba.

Pursuant to the request made by the Republic of Southern Sudan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 30 person computer laboratory was established in the Dr. John Garang Joint Police Training Center located in Southern Sudan’s capital of Juba through a cooperative effort between TİKA and Turkey’s Juba Embassy. The laboratory established in the Dr. John Garang Joint Police Training Center located in Southern Sudan through the contributions of TİKA was opened in a ceremony by Turkey’s Ambassador to Juba Ahmet Ergin, the Republic of Southern Sudan’s Internal Affairs and Wildlife Preservation Deputy Minister Jadalla Augustino Wani.

The Republic of Southern Sudan, which won its independence in the year 2011, receives international support to establish its police organization. 20 Turkish Police serve in the United Nations Southern Sudan mission. The computer courses in the laboratory established by TİKA will be provided by the Turkish Police assigned in Southern Sudan. A section of the conference hall allocated for the computer laboratory has been furnished as a theoretical training classroom.

With this laboratory candidates for the Southern Sudan police will be able to learn basic computer applications such as preparing documents and participate in online courses from the internet.
