Kyrgyzstan – Turkey Friendship Hospital built and supported with health equipments by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has provided health service for 100.000 people within a year.
TIKA continues its projects in Kyrgyzstan. TIKA, especially putting its signature under important projects in the field of health, built and supported with health equipments Kyrgyzstan- Turkey Friendship Hospital in Osh. This hospital has provided health service for approximately 100.000 people in a year; and 114.525 people received a treatment in this hospital in 2014.
A three-floored hospital with 2.760 m2 indoor area was built in Osh in 2012. In the hospital with 46 rooms, there are so many polyclinics such as general surgery, otorhinolargyngology, gynecology, dentistry, urology, eye diseases, physiotherapy, internal diseases, and neurology. Equipments of the hospital were provided in March of 2013 and X-ray, laboratory equipments and other medical equipments were delivered to Kyrgyz authorities in March of 2014.
The hospital works with two shift systems and has a 700 people (patient) capacity. The total number of staff are 140 in the hospital; 36 of them are doctors, 72 of them are allied health staff and technicians. According to the recent statistic data, the population of Osh is 1.200.000. Although it is determined that approximately 500.000 people live just in Osh, the number of people who have health service from the hospital is 50.000.
The hospital has ambulatory care facilities for approximately 700 people per day, showing a change in winter and summer. The hospital has planned to serve not only in Osh but also all Osh province and Jalal-Abad and Batken provinces in the south of Kyrgyzstan. In addition, the hospital serves to non-statistic population such as immigrants or transit passengers from southern neighbor China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The hospital also provides health services for staff of Ministry of Exceptional Circumstances in Kyrgyzstan and Governmental Coast Guard Service.
TIKA, putting its signature under a big project in the field of health and making a big contribution to increase living standards of Kyrgyz people, increasingly continues to its activities in Kyrgyzstan.
