Sarajevo’s historical bazaar Bashcharshiya has been being renovated

 

In Bosnia Herzegovina which is one of the most important countries in East Europe with tracks of different civilizations, Sarajevo Bashcharshiya Square has been being renovated by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in cooperation with Stari Grad and Osmangazi Municipality.

TIKA continues to carry out its projects in Bosnia Herzegovina. In cooperation with Stari Grad and Osmangazi Municipality, renovation works of Sarajevo Bashcharshiya Square have been started by TIKA putting its signature under important projects in numerous fields in Bosnia Herzegovina.

Capital Sarajevo hosting Western and Eastern civilizations at the same time in Bosnia Herzegovina has a feature of being among the most special cities in the world. Bashcharsiya which is an apple of eye of Sarajevo and the biggest Turkish Bazaar in Balkans is qualified as the heart of the city. Bashcharshiya which you can see tracks of all civilizations within walking distance locates in the most important center of the country.

Renovation projects about the bazaar which was exposed to destructions and fires so many times in its history were started in 2014. Renovation works were started in September 2015 by TIKA in contribution of Stari Grad and Osmangazi Municipality. The works including renovation of many networks such as deep sewage, electricity, telecom and water will be completed by floor renovation in the square. It is planned that the project will be completed till the end of the year.
