TİKA, establishes a Computer and Science Laboratory in Amanah Integrated School of Luzon Islands, the Philippines.
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) continues to realize new projects. In this respect, a Computer and Science Laboratory in Amanah Integrated School located in the Luzon Islands of the Philippines.
In accordance with the development agenda in the Philippines, the education sector is a priority for TİKA. Aside from the public schools, private educational institutions and foundations, which offer religious education, are also in effort to meet the needs related to the said issue. Of those civil society organizations, an important one is the Amanah Integrated School, which offers education to a hundred orphan students and continues its activities within a campus that includes an orphanage and school buildings.
The foundation is particularly important due to the lack of likewise foundations which are active towards the Muslim communities within the capital city, Manila. The foundation primarily hosts the orphan students coming from the city of Marawi and nearby locations located in Mindanao Islands where conflicts still prevail.
The opening ceremony of the Computer and Science Laboratory established by TİKA, was attended by the Foundation Director Muhammed Muhammed, TİKA Manila Project Coordinator Yeşim Baktır, TİKA officials, and administrators, educators and students from the orphanage and school.
The Foundation Director Muhammed remarked that they are specifically in service of providing educational and accommodation services to children arriving from the conflict zones and thanks to the Computer and Science Laboratory that is established with the support of TİKA, now they will be able to be accredited by the Philippines Ministry of Education. Director Muhammed continued his words by stating that they are grateful to TİKA and Turkey for that they will be able to offer a much more qualified education.
Moreover, stationary equipment and food supplies were distributed during the ceremony.
