E-Government Protocol Signed Between Turkey and Azerbaijan

A three-way good faith protocol to show public services and regulate cooperation was signed between the Turkish Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and the Azerbaijan Service and Assessment Network (ASAN Service) State Agency.

During the ceremony held as part of the Public Services Forum organized by the United Nations in Baku, Deputy Minister of Turkey's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan, Vice President of TİKA Serkan Kayalar and Chairman of ASAN Service Ülvi Mehdiyev signed the three-way goodwill protocol. 

During his speech, Sayan expressed that both countries had experienced promising developments in the sphere of e-government. Stating that they will continue to work on increasing capacity, exchanging experience and exchanging experts, Sayan said that they will increase cooperation as two sister countries.

Vice President of TİKA Serkan Kayalar emphasized that they had been in cooperation with ASAN Service for many years and added that they intended to carry this cooperation further through the protocol they signed.

Moreover, Chairman of ASAN Service Mehdiyev expressed that the implementation of the Turkish and Azerbaijani state service models in third countries brought with it the development of cooperation in the area of state services and e-government between the two countries. TİKA provided support for the establishment and structuring of ASAN Service, which provides public services offered by the state from a single center, including applications for passports, identity cards, driving licenses, permits, title deeds, archives, weddings documents, residence documents, and work permits.
