Turkish experts trained Uzbek veterinarians in “artificial insemination”

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) organized the 5-day training course “Artificial Insemination and Herd Book Legislation Training for Trainers” in Polytechnic College in Qashqadaryo in cooperation with Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

78 veterinarians from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the provinces of Andijon, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Qashqadaryo, Navoiy, Namangan, Samarqand, Surxondaryo, Sirdaryo, Tashkent, Fergana, and Xorazm attended the training course taught by 4 experts from Turkey’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

The certificate ceremony at the end of the training was attended by the Republic of Turkey’s Ambassador to Tashkent Mehmet Süreyya Er, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development Bakhromjon Norkobilov, and TİKA Tashkent Coordinator Ali İhsan Çağlar.

In his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Süreyya Er stated that the number of concrete joint projects increases as the relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey grow and develop. Er said, “Our sister country, Uzbekistan, has a huge potential with its young, educated, and dynamic population, natural resources, and human capital. We want to use every means available to provide benefits to both parties during this important transformation that Uzbekistan undergoes.”

Ambassador Er noted that this training course is of particular importance as a leading project implemented by TİKA in the field of veterinary in Uzbekistan. He also underlined that this project will enable Turkey to share its years of experience in the fields of veterinary and livestock breeding with its sister country, Uzbekistan, and to diversify and strengthen the existing close relations through a concrete step in this field.

Chairman of Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development Bakhromjon Norkobilov noted that they are in close cooperation with Turkey in the fields of livestock breeding and veterinary. He said he believed that this training course would contribute to the development of livestock breeding, and thanked Turkey and TİKA for their support in this field.

Within the scope of the project “Establishment of the Animal Registration System in Uzbekistan” implemented by TİKA in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a delegation assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry went on a 5-day working visit to Bukhara, Samarqand, and Tashkent in April at the invitation of Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development. As part of the project, a delegation consisting of 5 members led by Chairman of Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development Bakhromjon Norkobilov went on a working visit to Turkey in July.
