TİKA’s Trainees Started Manufacturing Masks in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, Afghan women who completed the vocational course organized by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in the district of Andkhoy in Faryab Province started manufacturing masks and gowns to support Afghanistan’s fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.

In Afghanistan, women who completed the 6-month course in tailoring and many other vocational fields organized by TİKA last year for women in the district of Andkhoy in Faryab Province had the chance to practice their profession for the first time.

Since wearing a mask is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of the global outbreak, the number of people who use masks is increasing day by day, and the supply of masks is insufficient. As a result, the graduates of the Andkhoy Vocational Course started manufacturing masks by using the materials provided by TİKA, in order to support Afghanistan’s fight against the outbreak.

It is aimed to manufacture 50,000 masks, 1,000 gowns, and 1,000 coveralls for healthcare providers throughout the course, which is planned to last nearly 3 months.
