Mobile Offices Reached 5 Million People in Uzbekistan

20 mobile office vehicles provided by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) to the Agency for Public Services, affiliated with the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan, have served 5 million people so far.

20 mobile office vehicles given as a gift by TİKA to the Agency for Public Services in September 2018 enabled the agency to provide public services even in the most remote parts of the country. Thanks to these vehicles, 5 million people have accessed 150 different types of public services around the country in 3 years. A mobile office vehicle given as a gift by TİKA to the Government of Uzbekistan provided various public services to dozens of citizens in the village of Chimgan in the foothills of the Tian Shan, located 150 km from Tashkent. Thus, the residents of this mountainous region did not need to go to the city center, saving time and money.

Services are provided even in regions without access to electricity

Erkin Doripov, Spokesperson of the Tashkent Office of the Agency for Public Services, stated that the agency provided 150 different types of public services, including notary, tax, inheritance, insurance, and land registry services; work permit and license, birth certificate, identification card, passport, and driver’s license transactions; utility bill payments; school enrollment; procedures for retirement and military service; and natural gas and electricity subscriptions. Doripov stressed that they helped those living in the most remote parts of the country and provided public services to them thanks to mobile office vehicles. He underlined that these vehicles can serve even in the regions without access to electricity as they were equipped with solar energy panels. Stating that each mobile office vehicle has traveled an average of 30,000 kilometers so far, Doripov said, “20 mobile office vehicles provided by TİKA have made a total of 530,000 trips to the most remote parts of the country in 3 years and served 5 million people.”

We will continue to support Uzbekistan

Cemalettin Tüney, TİKA’s Tashkent Program Coordinator, visited the mobile office vehicle serving in the village of Chimgan. Tüney stated that these vehicles, which were given as a gift by TİKA in 2018, visited remote parts of the country and provided various services to those living far from city and district centers. Noting that TİKA also gave 50 ambulances and 20 mobile clinics to Uzbekistan as a gift, Tüney said that all of these vehicles served citizens at their doorsteps and made TİKA proud.  Tüney remarked that TİKA was happy to play a role in the building of the bridge between the hearts of the people of Uzbekistan and the people of Turkey with this project, and said, “We will continue to support Uzbekistan with similar projects.”
