TİKA Supports Georgian Beekeepers

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided beehives and equipment to beekeepers in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara to help develop the country's beekeeping sector.

Equipment support was given to 250 beekeepers from the Ajara region and 370 beehives and equipment support were given to 52 Abkhazian migrant beekeepers in the context of this project.

TİKA aims to allow for capacity development, hygienic production, reliable and sustainable food security, and improvement of honey quality through this support and wishes for the development of the beekeeping sector in the region through trainings that are planned to be provided on beekeeping.

Anzor Bolkvadze, Georgian Deputy of Khulo, and the local government officials of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara's Khulo, Keda and Shuakhevi towns participated in the delivery ceremony during which beekeepers said their productivity would increase thanks to TİKA and they extended their gratitude to Turkey for its support.
