TİKA Supports Education in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Located in Northern Uzbekistan

Operated by Uzbekistan Railways in cooperation with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Sog'lom Avlod Uchun Foundation in order to provide health services to people living in regions with challenging geographical conditions in northern Uzbekistan, as well as to support education and provide humanitarian assistance, the “Health Train” arrived in Karakalpakstan.

Karakalpakstan, officially the Republic of Karakalpakstan, is the region most affected by the health-related and socio-economic consequences of the drying up of the Aral Sea and the accompanying environmental disasters. Since 2019, a health train has been sent to the region occasionally to perform health screenings under the Presidential Decree issued to support the region.

In 2021, TİKA provided school supplies to 116 students living in the Orphanage No. 1 in Xoʻjayli District, Karakalpakstan, as part of the project “Health Train,” which was supported by the Agency.
