TİKA Held an Iftar Dinner in the City of Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) brought together the residents of Banja Luka at its traditional iftar dinner.

TİKA’s annual Ramadan events had been restricted for the last two years due to the pandemic. The restrictions on mass events were lifted as a result of the compliance with the measures and the slowdown in the spread of the epidemic.

On the occasion of Ramadan, which is the month of sharing, helping, and solidarity, TİKA held its traditional dinner and set floor tables at the historical Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka, where Muslims constitute a minority group.

The iftar dinner held in the courtyard of the historical mosque, which was razed to the ground during the Bosnian War and was renovated and opened for worship in 2016 with the support of TİKA, was attended by Senad Bratić, a member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska; Nusret Abdibegovic, Müfti of Banja Luka; Oğuz Kılıç, Türkiye’s Consul General to Banja Luka; Muhammed Ünal, TİKA’s Coordinator in Sarajevo; and many citizens.

TİKA’s last iftar program during Ramadan, which is the month of mutual tolerance, trust, helping, and solidarity, will be held in Foča on April 19, 2022.
