TİKA Organizes a Capacity-Building Program for the Pan-African Muslim Journalists’ Association

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided technical equipment, including computers, microphones, cameras, and accessories, to the Pan-African Muslim Journalists’ Association (PAMOJA), operating in Uganda.

The delivery ceremony held at TİKA’s Office in Kampala was attended by Hamza Kyeyune, Secretary-General of PAMOJA; Aisha Katamangube, Deputy Secretary-General of PAMOJA; and Ömer Aykon, TİKA’s Coordinator in Uganda.

Secretary-General Hamza Kyeyune said, “We have been writing and reporting news stories about Türkiye for many years. Thanks to TİKA, meaningful support was provided for our association for the first time. We had needed technical equipment for many years, but now, we believe that our needs have been met. Our association will train journalists under better conditions and work more effectively at our annual Journalist of the Year Awards. We are happy to be able to use our own equipment in our Hajj programs.” Kyeyune stated that they were working in partnership with Anadolu Agency and that they wanted to write the first news story about the activities of TİKA and the Turkish Embassy in Kampala to be reported in Türkiye.
