TİKA Decorated Guatemala with Yunus Emre and Istanbul-themed Çini

The Cuchilla-San Antonio Underpass in Guatemala was decorated with Yunus Emre- and Istanbul-themed çini with the support of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

The Cuchilla-San Antonio Underpass in Guatemala City, the capital of Guatemala, was decorated with Yunus Emre- and Istanbul-themed çini by TİKA, the Turkish Embassy in Guatemala City, and the Municipality of Guatemala City. The Yunus Emre- and Istanbul-themed çini used as part of the project, which was implemented by TİKA’s Program Coordination Office in Mexico, were manufactured in Türkiye and delivered to Guatemala City.

Yunus Emre’s Verses Were Engraved

The Cuchilla-San Antonio Underpass in Guatemala City was selected for the decoration project as it is located in one of the busiest areas of the city. The çini were laid under the supervision of specialists and engineers from Türkiye. The following verses were engraved into the Yunus Emre-themed çini on one of the walls of the underpass: “I am not here on earth for strife. Love is the mission of my life. Hearts are the home of the loved one. I came here to build each true heart
