TİKA Supports the Rehabilitation Center of Zagreb in Croatia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided technical equipment to the Rehabilitation Center of Zagreb, which is a long-established institution in Croatia, to improve its quality of service.

As part of the project, the necessary mechanisms for offering patients quick, safe, and trouble-free access to the entrance, dining hall, physical therapy room, and gym at the center, as well as a wheelchair elevator rail system, were installed in order to contribute to improving the quality of service of the Rehabilitation Center of Zagreb and enable it to operate under better conditions.

Furthermore, the Agency provided the necessary software and devices for individuals with cerebral palsy, dystonia, autism spectrum disorder, and similar disorders or disabilities to communicate better and receive education. The project also included the donation of a CNC machine to the workshop for building the machinery used in the production of handicrafts and other products by the users of rehabilitation services.

320 employees of the Rehabilitation Center of Zagreb, which is a long-established institution in Croatia, serve 700 people with disabilities. The center offers several services such as inpatient care, daycare, and home care and carries out awareness-raising activities for the families of patients who need rehabilitation.

Both the users of the rehabilitation services offered by the center and Croatian authorities were pleased with the support provided for the institution, which is the longest-established and largest rehabilitation center in Croatia, and the project, which aimed to improve the quality of service at the center.
