TİKA Supports the Istanbul Human Resources Forum

The first edition of the Istanbul Human Resources Forum, themed “Talent Hub of the New Century,” was held by the Presidential Human Resources Office (CBİKO) with the support of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) at Istanbul Congress Center on December 5 and 6, 2022.

The forum brought together nearly 3,000 attendees, including directors of international organizations, public institutions, private organizations, local governments, academics from Türkiye and abroad who play a critical role in the development of future human resources, representatives of various industries, career centers of universities, and members of the Organization of Turkic States and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The forum prioritized building a bridge between public institutions, private sector, and academic specialists and brought together professionals from more than 40 countries, helping attendees learn about human resource management practices that have been proven successful in Türkiye and all around the world.

Assoc. Prof. Atay, President of the Presidential Human Resources Office, delivered a speech at the opening session of the forum and stated that they were sharing their experience in human resources both with the private sector and with other countries and signed a cooperation agreement on e-human with the Organization of Turkic States in Samarkand the month before.

Atay noted that they were ready to share their integrated system, which adopts modern human resources practices, not only with Turkic states, but with any country that makes such a request.

Atay added that they analyzed big data and developed tools and methods in full cooperation with the relevant institutions. He said, “We initiated the long-awaited substantial human resources reform in our country with high value-added projects developed as a result of these principles and this cooperation.”

Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), noted that they had recently formed a partnership with the Presidential Human Resources Office of Türkiye in the field of human resources and that they held the first meeting in Istanbul with the participation of academics and the heads of the relevant institutions in countries that are member or observer states at the OTS.

Omuraliev said, “Human resources development and institutional capacity-building in member and observer states are among our primary areas of cooperation. Our efforts are focused on improving the professional skills of public institutions and increasing the institutional capacity of our countries to enable them to provide good governance and public services. With these new steps, we will accelerate our efforts to align the public sectors of member states and improve the capabilities of public officers.”
